James Shook served in the US Army from 1971-1979. In the letter, Teresa shared her husband’s many medical conditions, where he receives treatment at the Durham VA Medical Center, along with the need to fix their roof, which had been tarped over for the last 2 years.

The roofing company selected Mr. Shook after receiving nominations collected on the company’s Facebook page and website.

A&M Premier’s Co-Founder Stephen Mull shares, “As a Marine Veteran, I’m dedicated to hiring and helping Veterans in any way I can. When I read Teresa’s letter, I knew we needed to help. Living with an unsecured roof is dangerous for even a couple of days. I can’t imagine the stress they endured living with one for over two years.”

Mull adds, “I’m proud to honor a fellow Veteran and relieve their stress by providing a full roof replacement that’s secure
from weather elements and other outside factors at no cost to them.”

With the help of Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply and GAF®, the Shooks received a brand-new roof, undoubtedly reducing stress for the family. The Butcher’s Market provided a $250 gift card so the family could enjoy a delicious first meal under their new roof.
